I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Anti Social Behaviour, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. It has been another jam-packed week for our officers working in Stevenage Town Centre and 9 Yards as we make more arrests, deal with more vehicle crime, send offenders to prison and deal with long term ASB.
A male has been arrested for several offences in Stevenage Town Centre.
Daniel O’Donnell, aged 47 of No Fixed Abode was arrested on suspicion of theft, breach of a community protection notice (CPN) and breach of court bail on Tuesday 21 July.
Police had attended Stevenage Town Centre after reports of the theft of £699 worth of perfumes and aftershave.
O’Donnell was arrested for the theft as well as for breach of a community protection notice (CPN) and breach of court bail.
He was charged with all offences, remanded to prison and will be serving on remand until a court hearing on Monday 7 September.
A man has been arrested and charged in relation to 10 counts of shoplifting in Stevenage.
Dean Jeffery, aged 45, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Friday 31 July for the following offences:
• Seven counts of shoplifting from Boots, Stevenage Town Centre on Monday 13 July, Saturday 18 July, Monday 20 July, Tuesday 21 July and Thursday 23 July amounting to £1,368.95 of goods stolen.
• Two counts of shoplifting at Sainsburys, Magpie Crescent, Stevenage on Monday 20 July and Thursday 30 July amounting to £198.24 stolen.
• One count of shoplifting at B&M Monkswood Retail Park on Tuesday 21 July amounting to £28.91 stolen.
All 10 offences accumulated to thefts the value of almost £1,600.
Jeffery was also arrested for prison recall as he was shown as wanted. He is due in court on Wednesday 7 October.
A woman has been arrested and charged for a shoplifting offence.
Sonia Younas, aged 37, of Lonsdale Road, Stevenage was arrested in relation to a shoplifting offence on Friday 31 July. The offence took place on Sunday 26 July where £600 worth of fragrances were taken from Boots in Stevenage Town Centre.
She is due to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 7 October.
A male has been arrested and charged with a shoplifting offence.
Clive Everett, aged 43, from Ripon Road, Stevenage was arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop on Friday 31 July 2026.
Items worth £232 were stolen from Boots in Stevenage Town Centre on Wednesday 17 June.
Everett was charged and is due to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 7 October.
A man has been charged with eight offences including five shopliftings in Stevenage.
Lester Headley, aged 26, of Trumper Road, Stevenage has been charged with;
- Thefts from Morrisons on Canterbury Way on Monday 13 July, Thursday 23 July, Friday 24 July and Tuesday 28 July.
- Theft from Tesco on Wesleyan Road, Stevenage on Friday 22 May.
- Common Assault and public order offences at Morrisons on Canterbury Way on Monday 13 July.
- Common Assault at B&M, London Road, Stevenage on Friday 24 April.
He is due to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Monday 28 September.
A Community Protection Notice (CPN) has been issued to a persistent beggar in Stevenage Town Centre. Police had dealt with the individual on a number of occasions and due to the amount of reports that had been received, we have issued them with the notice with conditions not to beg.
Operation Scootherts continues to see more seizures as we continue into the summer. This week we have seized the following;
- X3 E-scooters
All riders have been reported for the relevant offences and will be going to court to receive both fines and points.

The act also includes measures such as the Community Remedy and antisocial behaviour case reviews which empower victims and communities to have a say in the outcome of their reports and hold agencies to account.
